Behind 6 1/3 innings from Cameren Anderson, the Troy Trojans blanked Rockwood Summit in the consolation game, 7-0, on March 24 to finish third at the 25th-annual Troy Flooring Center Baseball Classic.

Troy went 4-1 in the tournament, with its only loss coming to Christian Brothers College High School. Trojans coach Justin Rodgers said he’s happy with his team’s performance so far.

“We’ve gotten off to a good start,” he said. “We lost a tough one to CBC, but overall through five games, I like the way we’ve started off the season.”

Winfield, on the other hand, is off to a rough start. After dropping the tournament opener to the Trojans, the Trojans lost 10-4 at Lutheran South to finish the Troy Baseball Classic with an 0-5 record.

The game was moved to Affton from Winfield because the Warriors’ field was unplayable due to heavy rain the day before.
