Troy, Mo. – The Troy Buchanan varsity girls cross country team had a pair of meets in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area recently.
The Trojans traveled to the Terry Matheany Hazelwood West Invitational, where Brooke Gilbert and Vivian Wortmann each earned medalist honors by placing 13th and 22nd, respectively, en route to a fifth-place finish.
Troy’s varsity boys team placed third overall at the tournament, led by sophomore Evan Schleef, who placed 14th with a personal-best time of 18:13.26, which is also 10th all-time in school history for a sophomore runner.

The Trojan girls also traveled to Parkway West for the Dale Shepherd Invitational. Gilbert finished 26th, with a time of 20:54, and Wortmann placed 75th with a time of 23:35.
