The Silex Owls sailed to an easy victory over Paris 11-1 on Wednesday, March 15 making this back-to-back district championships.
Paris scored their only run in the first inning on and error. From then on it was all Silex.
In the bottom of the first inning, Silex tied things up at one when Tommy Grote singled to score Brian Henke.
Silex pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. Blake Thoroughman doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, an error scored another and then Grote doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs.
Henke led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Silex. He went six innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out 11.
Forrest was on the pitcher’s mound for Paris. He surrendered eight runs on seven hits over three innings. Ebbesmeyer threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Owls totaled ten hits in the game. Henke, Dillon Magill, Daniel Havlik and Grote each collected multiple hits for Silex.
