In Elsberry’s pool the Lady Indians took on Winfield and Bowling Green walking away with victories;  advancing to the title game against the Clopton Hawks

There is always a friendly rivalry when it comes to Elsberry and Clopton competing in a sporting event, and the game for first place last Thursday was no different.

When the Lady Indians hit the court  they had one thing on their mind and it showed in the first quarter  as they jumped out to an early 12-9 lead.  In the second quarter they didn’t let up, taking a 21-15 lead into the locker room at halftime.

A quick three pointer to start the second half put Elsberry on their way to taking a ten point lead at the end of the third quarter.  The Lady Indians didn’t look back in the fourth quarter as they cruised to a 46-27 victory.  Leading the scoring for Elsberry was Anna Talbot with 19 points.

In the first two games, Elsberry cruised to easy victories.  Against Winfield on the first night of the tournament, the victory came by a score of 34-22.

On Wednesday of the tournament the Lady Indians again scored 34 points to just seven scored by Bowling Green.
