Last week the St. Louis Post-Dispatch released their Scholar Athlete receipents and Elsberry Senior Trevor Anthony was chosen to represent his school.
Anthony is a three sport athlete and currently ranks academically fifth in his class.
Some of his academic accomplishments are: U.S. Presidential Scholar Candidate; Bright Flight; A+ Program; Academic Team All-Conference and All-District; Renaissance Award of Excellence; HOBY Selection and Missouri Boys State.
On the field and court, Anthony was named to the All-Conference and All-District teams for football and All-District for Basketball. He also received the Mr. Defense/Mr. Swat and Mr. Hustle awards.
Other activities that Anthony has been in during his high school career are: National Honor Society, FFA, Student Senate, FBLA, Student Ambassador, Class Treasurer, Academic Team, Band, Jazz Band, FCA, Speech and Drama, MOYAG, Renaissance Committee, Blood Drives, Operation Backpack and Salvation Army Bell Ringing.
Anthony will be attending Missouri S&T for chemical engineering with an emphasis in biochemical engineering.
“I hope to work for any major seed company to research different hybrid seeds and create new seeds to increase higher yields,” said Anthony.
He credits his parents Anne Moe and Mark Anthony for who he has become.
“They have taught me how to overcome adversity and be the strongest person I can be,” said Anthony.
