The Elsberry Indians and Lady Indians were able to get only one game in last week due to the inclement weather. Early in the week both teams played the Bowling Green Bobcats in conference matches, with both falling in overtime.

On Wednesday morning senior Hunter signed his official letter of intent to play football at the University of Central Missouri.
Silex’s boys basketball team fell in a bout against Bowling Green last Tuesday on Jan. 29. The Bobcats slowly pulled ahead of the Owls throughout the game, but Silex made sure the victory wasn’t an easy one for them.
Winfield’s wrestlers are heading towards districts this weekend fresh off some successful performances at tournaments at Priory for the boys and Seckman for the girls.
Update: Flanigan won the 110-pound class at districts, making history as the first Lady Trojan to qualify for the state tournament.

Troy Buchanan’s annual basketball tournaments concluded this weekend, with the Lady Trojans taking the championship in an exciting matchup against Eureka High School, and the boys varsity team winning against Holt for the seventh-place slot.
Winfield’s boys and girls Tip Off Classic competitions finished up over the weekend, with the boys’ last game running adjacent Lutheran on Dec. 1. The Warriors beat Lutheran 60-53 for the seventh place spot.
