Matt Summers, the girls tennis coach at Troy, isn’t exactly sure what to expect out of the 2019 fall season, but is certainly gearing up for a jam-packed schedule.

“We graduated several of our top six players from last year. There will be some bumps and some learning curves,” Summers said.

“The good thing about these girls is they don’t give up and they fight. It’s not one of those where if they are up against somebody that’s better than them, they just kind of curl up. They try hard and they give maximum effort. So there’s some potential.

“I’m just not sure how much yet. There is definitely some talent but we’ll be awfully young.”

The girls’ tennis season kicks off at home with a doubles tournament Aug. 31.

The matches will come fast and thick from then onwards, with 13 taking place  from Sept. 3 through Sept. 30.
