Winfield Girl's Soccer team

Winfield HS, May 3, 4:15 p.m. -

On Tuesday, The Winfield Warriors ladies soccer program hosted Warrenton for Winfield's final GAC North Conference game of the season. Winfield scored the first goal early in the game on a corner kick, and carried the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Winfield added a goal in the 45th minute, but gave one up to Warrenton five minutes later. However, the ladies closed the door after that and played enough effective defense to hold the one-goal lead until the game's conclusion.

Winfield wins by a final score of 2-1.

Winfield's goals were scored by:

(Junior) Jaden Luckett, her 7 goal of the season, and

(Junior) Jessi Rudar, her 7 goal of the season and her 2 game-winning goal of the season.

(Freshman) Bailey Wisniewski assisted on the first goal, notching her 1st assist of the season.

(Freshman) Nyia Sullivan played the full 80 minutes as Winfield's goalkeeper, and made 2 saves in the effort.

The win improves Winfield's overall season record to 5-10, and wraps up the GAC North Conference record at 2-6.

St. Charles and Orchard Farm will end up as co-champs, only losing once to each other, St. Charles West took 3rd in the conference, losing 4 and winning 4, Winfield took 4th, and Warrenton took 5th place, going 0-8 in the conference.

Winfield plays next on Thursday, 5-5-22, when they host North Point.
