SuzAnne Paez

Virginia SuzAnne Stroker Paez of Manchester, MO passed on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the age of 74 of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

SuzAnne was born July 22, 1946, in St. Louis, MO. SuzAnne was preceded in death by her husband Mark Paez Sr., her parents Clemmons Riddle Stroker and Grace Irene Johnston Stroker Menos, her stepfather George Menos and sister Linda Katherine Stroker. Survived by her two children Mark (Jennifer) Paez Jr. and Maria (Kevin) Brennan. Sisters Janet (Richard) Finnerty, Beth (Ron) McLean, nephews Chris (Natalie) McLean, Sean (Jackie) McLean, Gonzalo (Ana) Paez, Gabriel (Raymond Guell) Paez, and niece Alexandra Paez (John) Quijano. SuzAnne also leaves behind great and great-great nieces and nephews.

SuzAnne lived in St. Louis city and moved at age 5 to Olney, MO her dad’s hometown. She attended Olney grade school and graduated from Silex R-1 in 1964 and was a member of Olney Blue Skies 4-H Club. SuzAnne was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church of Olney, MO and Kirkwood, MO.

SuzAnne attended Kirksville State Teachers College, now called Truman University where she would meet her husband, Mark. In 1970, SuzAnne and Mark married at Kirkwood UMC and moved to Caracas, Venezuela, and then to El Tigre. Both children were born in Venezuela and then returned to the States in 1984.

After returning to the states, SuzAnne continued her education and attended Missouri Baptist University, and received both a bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She became a teacher at STLCC at Meramec of Physical Education, Health and Wellness. She also taught Driver’s Education with Lindbergh School District and an American Red Cross Instructor.

SuzAnne enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, working in the garden, reading, cooking, sewing, and other crafts as well as helping others within the community.

She had a wonderful smile, great sense of humor, a contagious loud laugh and will be greatly missed and remembered by those who knew and loved her.

Visitation at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122-1308 on Tuesday, June 8th from 4-7 pm. Funeral Services at Kirkwood UMC Wednesday June 9th at 10 am. Graveside Funeral Service will be 12:30 pm at Olney Cemetery in Olney, MO.
