Michael Robert Wies passed away on January 28, 2023 at the age of 76. He was the beloved husband of his wife of 53 years, Karen Wies nee Graham of Troy, Missouri.
He is survived by his son, Keith (Sheri) Wies; daughter, Michelle Wies; grandchildren, Michael, Christian, Quentin, Alexander, Nicholas; brother, Kenneth (Loraine) Wies; two sisters, Geri (Bob) Sachs, Terry (Charles) Smith.
He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Wies, mother, Helen Wies nee Pfaff, sister, Delores Merz, sister, Ruth Ellen Boehle, sister, Mary Ann Conoyer, sister, Betty Suellentrop, sister, Marge Collins, sister, Ginny Behlmann, brother, Gerald “Sonny” Wies. Michael was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy, previously of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville.
He retired in 2001 from the Carpenters Local Union 32 after 56 years. He served in United States Army from 1964 to 1969. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6525. He enjoyed many hobbies; hunting, target practice, going to auctions, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, listening to country music, watching westerns and always had a project going. He was a very patient person. Everything he did, he made better. He was loving, kind and had the best sense of humor. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation was held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO 63385 and Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church-Cottleville, 1355 Motherhead Road, St. Charles, MO 63304.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Cottleville.
Burial was at Our Lady Cemetery, 8701 Orf Rd., Lake St. Louis, MO 63367.
