Funeral services for Lula Irene Burger, 97, of Elsberry, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at Star Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Burger, 97, passed away early Monday morning, Aug. 31, 2015 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry.
Born May 6, 1918, near Foley, she was the daughter of James Lewis and Mary Jane McClellin Norton. Lula was united in marriage on Feb. 12, 1946, in Winfield to Roy Benjamin Burger. This union was blessed with two children: Joyce and Frederick.
Survivors include her son, Fred (Debbie) Burger of Elsberry; her son-in-law, Bob Stone of Elsberry; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Lula also leaves many other beloved relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.

Michael Wynn Henry, age 67, of Silex, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10: am on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Tichacek officiating. Burial was in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Silex.
Michael was born Aug. 28, 1947 in St. Charles, the son of James Robert and Charlene Barton Davis Henry. He married Glenda Padelford on May 8, 1971, at St. Alphonsus. She survives. Other survivors include son Michael Wynn Henry II (Julie) of Silex; daughters Michele Rae Lyons (David) of Gardenville, Nev., Meredith Barton Brown (Daniel Rhodes) of Silex; grandchildren Steven, Sarah and Ashley Lyons, Michael and Mason Henry, Gwen Gilbert, Isabella and Lydia Brown; brother Joseph Henry of Cuba, Mo.; sisters Phyllis Korte (Dan) of Wenzville, Janet Baker (Bill) of Silex, Susan Brewer (Harold) of Bowling Green, Margaret Ann Perrott of Silex, Marla Henry of Silex, Marcia Henry of Wentzville, Brenda Reinholz (Glen) of St. Charles, Donna Entwistle (Craig) of St. Charles, Christy Stoneking (Gale) of St. Peters and Nancy Killoren of St. Charles.
Michael lived in Silex all of his life. He was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Parish. He retired from Kroger in Troy after 20+ years and then worked at IGA for several years. He then bought Millwood Market which he ran for nine years, all while owning and operating Henry’s Bar in Silex for 21 years.
Everyone that knew Mike understood his love for the St. Louis Cardinals, cards, pool, mushroom hunting and his Stag beer. Most importantly, Mike loved being around friends and family and in his later years his grandchildren became his greatest pride.

A Memorial Mass for Herman Oscar Mudd, 92, of Elsberry, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Fr. Charles Tichacek, church pastor, will officiate.
Mr. Mudd passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry.
Born July 22, 1923, in Millwood, he was the son of Olin and Mary Miller Mudd. Herman served his country in the United States Army from Sept. 25, 1946, until he was honorably discharged on Feb. 18, 1948, as a Corporal. He was united in marriage on Nov. 30, 1946, in St. Louis, to Lillian Louise Tinsley. This union was blessed with four children: Carol, David, Sue and Donna.
Herman worked as a farmer for Champ Goodwood Farms, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he participated with the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include one son, David Mudd and his wife, Laurie, of Wentzville; three daughters: Carol Elrod and her husband, Chuck, of Warrenton, Sue Latham and her husband, Mick, of Winfield and Donna Boedeker of Troy; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Herman also leaves two brothers: Leon Mudd and his wife, Elaine, of Moline, Ill. and Earl Schuck and his wife, Marge, of California; two sisters: Olean Rohr of O’Fallon and Mary Agnes Wells and her husband, Wayne, of Las Vegas, Nev; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 until the time of Mass at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Dale Daniel Orf, of Moscow Mills,, died Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at the age of 64.
He was the beloved husband of Marion E. Orf; cherished son of the late Daniel A. Orf and Mary Ann Orf; devoted father of Chris (Dori) Orf and Wendy (Steve) Hunt; loving grandfather of Keagan Orf, Nick Orf, Macey Orf, Jordan Stepetin, McKenzie Stepetin, and Quin Stepetin; dear brother of Jerry Orf, Wayne (Lori ) Orf, and Dean (Sue) Orf.
He was a loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Carl “ Bub” Snider Jr., 41, of Troy, passed away on Aug. 30, 2015.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1974, in St. Louis to Carl and Kathy Snider Sr.
After attending the local schools, Bub became a mechanic. On June 20, 2002 he was united in marriage to Lisa (Schlueter). To this union was born one daughter; Hannah.
Bub worked at Bill’s Service Center in O’Fallon as a small engine repair mechanic for over 10 years.
He loved spending time with his family and watching old movies and t.v. shows.
Bub is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Snider of Troy; his daughter Hannah Snider of Troy; his parents: Carl and Kathy Snider Sr. of Fulton; one brother; Justin and wife Fallon Snider of New Jersey, grandparents: Kathy and Lloyd Mathes of Bismark; in-laws: Kathleen and Lawrence Schlueter of Troy and many other relatives and friends.
