Mr. Dana Preston Blackwell, 93, of Eolia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January, 21, 2020.He was born on April 4, 1926 in Elsberry, MO to Dana Howard and Sarah Ellen (Rogers) Blackwell. Preston was raised in Lincoln County and attended White Swan School House, which was a one-room school.He graduated from Eolia High School and shortly after was called to serve in the U.S. Navy.Upon his return from service he worked a variety of jobs; Auctioneer, minister, author and was a meter reader for Cuivre River Electric. Preston published seven books and had articles in local newspaper and religious publications. He was always busy, squirrel, coon and bird hunting. Preston was a kind and caring individual who was always willing to help out someone in need. He was a member of the Whiteside Holiness Church.
He is survived by; brother -in-law: Brad Waddell and sister-in-law: Paula Blackwell,14 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preston was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings; Donald Gene Blackwell, Milford Blackwell, Cletus Blackwell and Laura Belle Waddell and his nephew, Eddie Brown.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. , at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO, 63379, 636-528-8244.
A funeral service was also held on Friday, January 24, 2020, at 12:00 p.m., also at the funeral home in Troy. Rev. Sammy Lorton to officiate.
Interment to follow in the Millcreek Cemetery, Silex, MO.
