Charles Patrick Witte, 57 of Troy, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. He was born on October 15, 1962 in Troy, Missouri to Harry and Nora (Mudd) Witte. He graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 1982. Charles wed Linda Brown, and together, they had five children: Amber, James, Patrick, Joseph, and Harold.
Charles had a passion for cattle as he worked on the family farm all of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, being with friends, and volunteering his time at the Lincoln County Fair, where he was a Board Member. Hard work was his life’s motto, and he was always there for a friend when in need. He had a knack for fixing equipment and would regularly visit the company shop facility to lend advice to the mechanics working on equipment. He was always the first to arrive at the start of the day, and one of the last to leave.
Charles is survived by his parents, Harry and Nora of Troy, Missouri; his children: Amber (Witte) Regan of St. Louis, James and Melanie Witte of Fayetteville, NC, Patrick Witte of Troy, Joseph and Sara Witte of O’Fallon, MO, and Harold Witte of Oklahoma City, OK; his brothers and sisters: Nicole (Witte) and Jim Watry of Dallas, TX; Lila (Witte) and Steve Renfro of Lake St. Louis, MO, Brent and Elaine Witte of Troy, Janel (Witte) and Vaughn McDowell of Troy, Chad and Greta Witte of Troy; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and three grandchildren.
A Catholic Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located 100 Thompson Drive Troy, MO 63379. Officiating the mass will be Father Mike Lydon. Internment will be held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Troy, MO. A social gathering will be held to celebrate Charles’s life from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
