Charles “Bud” Kraft, Sr.

Charles “Bud” E. Kraft, Sr., 80, of Troy, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022 at his residence. Born on September 26, 1941 in Phelps County, MO to Gene Kraft and Iris E. Burns (Funke), he was the eldest of six siblings. He spent the majority of his younger years learning and working the farm with his granny and granddad, Charley and Amy Funke. After graduation he met and married Ruth LaCerda (Ennis) in 1962. From this union were born four children; Charles Jr., Steven, Tamara and Katherine. Using skills learned he worked for Binkley Manufacturing in Warrenton doing small engine repair and manufacturing. He was a jack of all trades before retiring from Croft Electric in Troy as a groundsman. He later married Judith A. Helvey on February 14, 1997. Throughout the years he enjoyed spending time with family, being outdoors and traveling to Bluegrass festivals.

Surviving are his loving family members:  his children:  Charles Kraft, Jr., Steven (Vicky) Kraft, Tamara (Jamey) Jameson, Kathy (Mike) Quattrocchi; his stepchildren: Ronnie (Kem) Helvey, David Helvey,Karen Minzes, Tommy (Becky) Helvey, Branda (Toff) Lopez; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He is further survived by his brother, David (Linda) Burns, his sister, Rebecca (Jim) Hogue and his special friend, Barb Sturgeon ; other relatives and friends.
