On Tuesday, July 23, the Winfield Police Department busted an assisted living home employee with what is suspected to be 1.2 grams of methamphetamine along with syringes, a scale and other various drug paraphernalia.
“We are finishing up our investigation today and tomorrow and turning it into the Lincoln County Prosecutor’s office for an issuance of charges,” Winfield Police Chief Bill Burleson said on Wednesday, July 24.
In a statement on Facebook, the department said that it believed the employee had intent to distribute within the facility.
Burleson said that the drugs were “in the employee’s possession while he was arriving to work.”
Because this is an ongoing investigation, there is limited information available to the public on the bust at this time but updates in the coming days are expected.
