On Oct. 24, Fairgrounds Park was full of children in costumes, candy and fun activities.
The Troy Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the first-annual “Trunk or Treat Spooktacular!.”
“This event is great for families to attend and have for the kids to have a safe and fun experience,” said a local veteran. Children’s spooky costumes flooded the parking lot, as they went from trunk to trunk also making a stop at the Lincoln County Ambulance District’s SPOOKY ambulance.
The parking lot was full of children running, playing and, of course, eating their candy.
During the “Spooktacular!,” there were different booths set up with candy, soda, hot dogs and more. The Lincoln County R-III School District food truck was also at the event offering snacks for purchase for the people attending the trunk or treat.
“Seeing the kids costumes and their big smiles is the whole point of this event” Kari Shramek said.
The event replaced the annual Pumpkin Festival on Main Street due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Although this year’s “Spooktacular!” looked a little different than normal due to COVID-19, the community still came out and put on a great event for the children and their families.
