A routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of an Elsberry man on June 5.
According to the Probable Cause Statement, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Joel Fann was attempting to make a traffic stop on South 6th Street in Elsberry when the vehicle failed to immediately yield for a short time before coming to a stop.
The driver Lawrence Preston, 37 of Elsberry was asked to exit the vehicle for a search which resulted in a small bag of methamphetamine and marijuana located in his pocket. The search of the vehicle also resulted in drug paraphernalia.
Preston was charged with Felony Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid of 10 Grams or Less.
Bond was set at $2,500.
