On Thursday, Jan. 30 the Circuit Court of Lincoln County filed felony charges for domestic assault stemming from an incident in April 2019.

According to the Probable Cause Statement, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 200 block of Buck Creek Road in Silex on April 28, 2019 in regards to a Domestic Assault report.

The victim claimed that Justin Wotring, 29 of Silex physically assaulted her following a verbal altercation. She stated that he drug out of the residence by her hair, stomping her hand, kicking her side and head, slapping her face and spitting on her. She also stated he broke her cell phone.

The deputy stated that the victim showed signs of bruising consistent with the claims.

On May 7, 2019 Wotring spoke to a deputy at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, where he stated that he never physically hit the victim and only placed his hands on her to restrain her and keep her from hitting him while she was drunk and aggressive.

Wotring was charged with a Class E Felony - Domestic Assault - 3rd Degree. Bond was set at $7,500 with 10%, GPS Monitoring prior to release and no contact with victim.
