Shooters upgrade kitchen

When the owners of Shooters Saloon opened their business in July of 2018, the food part of the establishment was not a priority, it was just a bonus.  Within six months of opening, Tracy Schroeder relayed that they had outgrown what small kitchen area was available.  She continued, ¨We made the area we had as functional as possible, but knew it was inevitable that we expand.¨

Construction was started by Steve Keiser and Schroeder, in the rear half of their two storefront businesses to create a larger kitchen area.  When the area was revealed  last week the result was a brand new state of the art commercial kitchen.  It includes a large grill, stone brick oven, four fryers, shelving, storage, stand up refrigerator, prep area, three sink washing station, commercial dishwasher, food warmer and a salad prep station.  The owners did as much work as possible that they could, only hiring out what was needed.  Schroeder said, ¨Slow and Steady was our motto for getting the new area ready.¨

Shooters will still be serving their daily specials and great food items, and hopefully add some new items to the menu in the future.  Currently, 13 people are employed at the business that is open seven days a week.

Cooking in the new commercial kitchen at Shooters is employee Roberta Zumwalt.  Also available is a salad prep station to speed up service.
