The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has released the dates of their D.A.R.E Dances.
The dances will be on Sept. 6 and 20, Oct. 4 and 18, Nov. 8 and 15, Dec. 13, January 10 and 24, Feb. 7 and 28, March 13 and 27, April 3 and 17 and May 1.
The Oct. 18 dance will be the 2019 costume contest and there will be prizes.
The Nov. 15 dance will be a canned food drive where two cans of food and $3 is the price of admission. The Dec. 13 dance will be a toy drive and a toy valued at $5 or more will get you in. Door prizes will also be given away. The D.A.R.E Dances are open to all Lincoln County 5, 6 and 7 graders and will be held at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
The dances will start at 7 p.m. and end at 10 p.m.
Per a statement from the LCSO, “Parents can drop their children off at door starting at 6:30 p.m., but will need to come inside the hall at the conclusion of the dance to pick them up.”
Cost of admission for the dances is $5 (unless noted otherwise).
There will be concessions available at the dances – $2 for sodas with $1 refills and candy for $1.
All dances are supervised by Lincoln County Sheriff Deputies with the assistance of High School Team Leaders and school appropriate dress is required.
All profits from the dances go to help put on the Sheriff’s Office annual Youth Camp held every summer for outgoing fifth graders.
