Jeff Yates, B-Modified racecar driver and adoptive father, decided to race for the kids this year.

He opted out of the typical car wrap of sponsorships and instead teamed up with his sponsors to wrap his racecar to promote Divine Nest, a foster and adoptive foundation located in Moscow Mills.

His mission caught the attention of Tri City Speedway, who is now backing his efforts to raise $10,000 for Divine Nest and is hosting the “Divine Nest Night at the Races” event.

Friday nights through October, Jeff will give away his mascot “The Lucky Duck” in exchange for a first night bag sponsorship.

He will also be selling Jeff Yates Racing shirts and accepting monetary donations to reach his $10,000 goal.

Tri City Speedway, located in Granite City, Illinois, will open up their venue to host “Divine Nest Night at the Races” on July 12.

This televised event will have the following classes running; Lucus Oil Late Models, and UMP Crate Late Models. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the races will begin at 7 p.m.

In addition to great racing there will be an opportunity for kids to get driver’s autographs, participate in opening ceremonies and other kid-themed activities.

Tickets are free for the first 150 Divine Nest foster and adoptive family members, and volunteers who pre-register. To register for tickets for the July 12 races, go to divinenest.com, click on the “Events” page and select “Divine Nest Night at the Races.”

Divine Nest recruits, educates and empowers families to foster and adopt.

The ministry focuses efforts on creating a new culture of support for adoptive and foster families by holding events and activities for them and giving the public ways to become their “village.”  The ministry focuses a lot of effort on trauma-informed parenting workshops to help parents with kids from tough places.

Divine Nest also drops off First Night Bags to children after they have been removed from their homes and put into the foster care system.

First Night Bags contain toiletries, clothes, diapers, blankets and anything else they will need for an overnight stay.

Stop by “The Nest” trailer and learn more about this organization on July 12 at Divine Nest Night at the Races.
