Dr. Mark Penny, superintendent of schools at the Lincoln County R-III School District, will assume his responsibilities as president of the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) on July 1, 2019.
Penny is currently the president-elect for MASA, and previously completed terms as treasurer and secretary for the association.
“The motto of MASA is ‘Lead-Develop-Support’ and I take those words to heart,” Penny said in a press release. “I am proud to serve an association that works to develop and support school leaders. We know that school districts that have strong leadership are best able to provide solid educational opportunities for their students.”
Dr. Doug Hayter, Executive Director of MASA said, “Mark Penny is a quality school leader, and we know that MASA will not only benefit from his personal leadership abilities, but his thoughtful, positive approach to working collaboratively with the MASA Executive Committee to best serve the members of our association.”
Penny is entering his ninth year at the Lincoln County R-III School District. Prior to his time at Lincoln Count R-III, Penny held the roles of teacher, principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent throughout a 14-year period in the Moberly School District.
