The body of a Moscow Mills man killed in a May 27 boat crash has been recovered, with the Missouri State Highway Patrol identifying him as Tayler Turpin, 20.
The accident occurred around 7 p.m. on Monday, May 27, where Missouri State Troopers received a phone call from Lincoln County Authorities about a possible boat crash on the Cuivre River near Old Monroe.
A second call followed shortly after the first, confirming the incident and informing the troopers of a possible missing person.
Turpin and another man were traveling downstream on the Cuivre River, and another boat was heading in the opposite direction. Both vehicles turned in an attempt to avoid the other, but the boat heading upstream struck the front of Turpin’s craft, ejecting both him and the other passenger. The driver of the upstream boat, 24-year-old William Nordmann Jr., was arrested for boating while intoxicated.
