The showdown between the Lincoln County Roadrunners’ Special Olympics teams and local first responders was pushed back a week due to temperamental weather on Monday. The game will now be on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus.

The three Special Olympics teams will be playing local firefighters, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, the Troy Police Department, Lincoln County Ambulance District EMTs and the Missouri State Troopers.

Following the game, there will be grilling for all involved.

Suzanne Clarke of the Lincoln County Roadrunners said the event will be a big practice as the teams prepare to head to state competitions at the end of August. So far this year, the teams have been performing quite well, Clarke said.

“We have received gold medals at three tournaments so far and silver at one,” Clarke said. “They got gold just this past Saturday!”
