The witness told the man, later identified as Daniel Bollinger, 40, of Elsberry, to stop. According to the probable cause statement, and the witness, Bollinger then turned his attention to the witness. The witness then grabbed a tire iron for protection, causing Bollinger to retreat.
After a short search, the deputy located Bollinger, who said he had gotten into an argument over his tooth pain. Bollinger was detained while the deputy went to look for the victim.
The victim was found a short time later just inside the park. She confirmed the argument, which began at Bollinger’s residence. She said when she got up to leave, Bollinger pushed her, then followed her to the park.
