Diane Simbro was honored on Dec. 17 by the Connections to Success due to her efforts in reentry efforts as “Workforce Professional of the Year.”
Simbro is the Executive Director of the Northeast Missouri Workforce Investment Board. Simbro oversees five job centers in a 16-county region while working hand in hand with Division of Family Services, the Missouri Department of Workforce Development, the Dept. of Corrections, NECAC, Lincoln County Economic Development and many more agencies.
“When I received the phone call telling me I was getting this award, I couldn’t believe it,” Simbro said.
Simbro is admired by all of those she works with.
“She has a fierce work ethic and completes the task to her best doing,” said Julie Rodgers, executive director of Lincoln County Economic Development.
One of Simbro’s jobs is to make sure to stay involved with her employees, and to always be available to help and or listen when her employees need guidance.
“I can’t imagine I would have ever received this award without my terrific staff and all of the amazing organizations I have the pleasure to work with. They are all deserving of this award.” Simbro said.
The combined project between Simbro and her team was successful and came out the best possible, according to Simbro.
“The project has shown what we are capable of, and the sky is the limit,” she said.
