Elsberry, Mo. - With the traditional school year over and Summer school now in full swing, district employees are coming and going with the seasons. For the Elsberry school district, five individuals have decided to move on to the next step in their professional lives; in late May, the district honored them for their service.

The following individuals were recognized with gift bags and a small celebration (including drinks and deserts) for their duty: Gene Markwardt, who worked maintenance for 10 years; Fay Mayes, who worked for 24 years and retires as the transportation director; Diane Hale, who concludes three years as an elementary teacher; Carol Spratt, who retires as the BRAVES (Building Responsibility, Achievement, and Vision for Elsberry Students) director with 20 years of dutiful service, and Tracy Howard, who spent 20 years in service and concludes her tenure as secretary to the superintendent.
