On Friday evening at approximately 7:15 p.m., Elsberry Police Officer Aaron O’Brien responded to the 800 block of North 5th Street in regards to a call of flourishing shotgun from a motor vehicle.
According to the Probable Cause Statement, the victim stated he was working on his deck in the rear of his house when a tan truck driving at a high rate of speed came around the corner of North 5th Street. The victim yelled out to the drive to slow down.
The truck slammed on its brakes backed up and pulled a shotgun out and pointed it at the victim and two other males at the residence.
After canvassing the area the tan vehicle was located at a home on North 5th Street. Officer O’Brien knocked on the door, however the suspect, Tyler Dahmer, 26 of Elsberry, would not answer the door. A backup unit from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office was sent. Dahmer never would come out of his home.
The following day, Officer O’Brien returned to the home after finding out from a witness that he was there. Dahmer was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Jail Division.
He stated he was drunk and high when he flourished the shotgun and while he was hiding in his residence.
He has been charged with Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Bond was set at $5,000 cash only.
