“What a great community we live and work in,” said Sandy Sinnett with tears in her eyes, after receiving $925 for medical expenses from donations and a fundraiser by the Elsberry Page Branch Park Committee.
Sinnett who suffers from kidney failure and is on dialysis has many medical expenses; the Park Committee stepped up to do something for her. Sinnett and her family have owned and operated the Senate Theater in Elsberry for years and have always been there when something was happening or needed in the community to help others.
Sinnett added, “Bob and I are so appreciative of the kindness shown to us, and we want to say Thank You to everyone.”
In early October the committee set up a drawing to win a dinner and show date night. Five winning tickets were drawn with couples being treated to a homemade lasagna dinner served in a romantic atmosphere and then attending a movie at the Senate Theater to finish out the evening. Helping the committee serve the guest were Faith Cordsiemon and Tinley Cordsiemon. Couples attending the dinner party and movie were: Bernard and Donna Bange, Gail and John Ed Suddarth, Laura and Sam Gladis, Jennifer and Leon Pritchett and Lisa Williams and guest.
Committee members helping with this fundraiser were Michael Short, JoAnn Cordsiemon, Kimber Cordsiemon, Angie Toland, Amy Lowe and Curtissa Kerr.
