VFW Fish Fry this Saturday
Elsberry V.F.W. Post 9064 men and women pride themselves on not only helping veterans, but people and causes in the community.
Since current commander, Dave Robbins, took his post earlier this summer he has tried to paint a positive image for the post.
This Saturday the Post will hold a fish fry with proceeds being donated to the Central Missouri Honor Flight. The event will start at noon offering sandwiches and plates until sold out.
Many veterans from the area have had the opportunity to travel on the honor flight and expressed it is a once in a lifetime trip.
School supplies are also being collected through the end of September at the Post to help those students who still need items even though the school has begun. Items can be dropped off any day of the week.
