Troy, Mo. - Going to the dentist is expensive, especially for those that are uninsured. Going to the dentist is also necessary; a simple cleaning twice a year can prevent tooth decay and gum disease. But for many people, making a dentist appointment is low on the list of priorities when it comes to paying bills or paying for other medical prescriptions and doctor visits.
This is where the Rural Parish Clinic steps in. Their mobile dental clinic, which opened its van’s doors on Oct. 14 for a preview and tour of the van, offers free services for uninsured individuals whose household income is 200% below the Federal Poverty Level. They provide cleanings, X-rays, fillings, dentures and tooth extractions and provide their patients with the best possible care. The van is fitted with everything a dentist’s office would have, and the volunteers expressed excitement about being in Lincoln County to help those who need it.
The dental clinic will be open from Oct. 21 through the 23. It is encouraged that those interested schedule an appointment by calling 314-225-4034.
