True Republicans United (TRU) held their second annual Reagan Day Fundraiser “Crisis on the Border” on May 17 at the Moscow Mills Lions Hall. A large portion of TRU’s proceeds, $1,400.00, was just recently donated to the Border Patrol Foundation. Courtland Sykes, the keynote speaker, was honored to present the donation from TRU to The BPF at 101 Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC on July 17.

Sykes stated that the media yammer on about the migrant crisis and the conditions at the border but tend to “ignore the overwhelming numbers of hostile elements our Border Patrol Agents manage daily.”

He pointed out that last year, there were more than 23,000 deaths due to military armed conflict in Mexico – compared to Iraq: 17,000 and Afghanistan: 16,000. The only thing standing between the United States and that war is our U.S. Border Patrol.

Thirty-three Border Patrol Agents have lost their lives in the line of duty since 2003.  From January 2019 through May 2019, Border Patrol Agents have saved more than 2,500 lives.

The Border Patrol is our frontline defense. Their ability to defend and secure our border ultimately impacts all law enforcement agencies across the country.

This is why TRU decided to bring awareness and support of The Border Patrol Foundation to Missouri. The BPF is much like our local Backstoppers.

July 23 marks the 10th Anniversary of the BPF. Since 2009, the BPF has donated over $1,033,857 to support the families in times of need and awarded $396,000 in scholarships to the children of the fallen as well as current and retired agents.

BPF Vice President Rowdy Adams (USBP Retired) remarked “Our usual donor base is from the border area where people are more familiar with the Border Patrol’s mission and see the daily efforts to secure our borders...but to have a donation come from a small group of citizens from the heartland of America is a humbling experience. It speaks to the recognition of the importance of the mission across our Nation and not just the border area.”  For more information about True Republicans United go to and to support The BPF go to
