Troy’s Historical Society is hosting a presentation and discussion on the Holocaust at 7 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the Old Courthouse on Main Street, presented by local resident Dana Creech Humphrey. Humphrey will focus on the beginning of the Holocaust, how it got started and the role issues like propaganda and Jewish persecution played in it.
“I’m going to try to put a new focus on what America knew during that time,” Humphrey said.
In studying the Holocaust, Humphrey has interacted with several Holocaust survivors. The survivors willing to speak – while it may be difficult for them to share what they lived through – speak courageously and share from the heart about the ordeal, Humphrey said.
The event is free and everyone is invited.
