Lincoln County Health Department

Lincoln County, Mo. - A reminder from the Lincoln County Health Department to please take precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones. Cases and positivity rate are at an all-time high and have surpassed the Delta wave. “We are adding about 180 cases per day, on average and the 7-day positivity rate is 32%”, states Sarah Valenza, Public Health Educator, Lincoln County Health Department.

Valenza goes on to say, “The risk of getting COVID-19 is the highest we have seen so far. Regional hospitals are consistently setting records for admissions and hospitalizations over the past week. Stay home if you’re sick, get tested if you’re having symptoms or have been exposed, wear a mask in public places to reduce the risk of transmission, and get vaccinated. These simple measures will also help keep you safe from the flu and other winter illnesses.”

COVID-19 vaccines work very well to reduce the chances of severe disease or death. The majority of hospitalizations in St. Louis is the unvaccinated population. We encourage residents to get their COVID-19 vaccine if they have not already, and a booster if they are eligible. Appointments can be made at www.lchdmo.org/covid19-vaccine.

Please also note that the Wednesday free testing site in Winfield has moved to the First Baptist Church. The address is 3700 State Hwy 47, Winfield, MO 63389. Hours are still 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. no appointments are required.  It was previously at Winfield County Market.
