The City of Elsberry announced Monday that all late-fees pertaining to city utilities (water, sewer and trash) will be suspended until further notice. Also, all disconnections on utilities will be suspended until further notice.
Mayor Steve Wilch posted a letter to the city’s website, www.cityofelsberry.com, updating the residents and business owners with ongoing concerns with the COVID-19 situation.
The letter states: We are not under martial law and City Hall will remain open until we are mandated otherwise by the sate and/or country authorities.
We encourage everyone to support our local businesses during this time. Our food establishments are open for take-out and delivery and all our regular businesses would appreciate your business to keep our local economy going and keep their people employed. Please keep an eye out for your elderly neighbors during this time as well.
Beginning Thursday at 4 p.m., staff at the Palmer Joseph R. Family Memorial Library will be outside the library doors to allow patrons to pick up books they have reserved in advance via the library’s online site which is palmer.biblionix.com.
They are only giving out reserved books, the library will not be open for browsing. It is easy and quick to get online, set up an account with your library card number and a password of your choosing and then reserve items. Only books that have been reserved can be checked out. The library staff will there from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to facilitate check out.
