Candidate filing sign-ups for the Apr. 7, 2020 General Municipal Election for Alderman in Wards 1, 2 and 3 in City Limits of Troy have opened and will remain open until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.
A release from the City of Troy said, “A Declaration of Candidacy may be filed with the City Clerk, Troy City Hall, 800 Cap Au Gris, Troy, Missouri 63379 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (except when the offices are closed due to a holiday and until 5:00 p.m. on the last day to file which is January 21, 2020).”
At the time of reporting, David Norman, Incumbent Alderman in Ward 2, is the only Incumbent that has filed out of the three seats that are up for grabs.
The other two seats that are up for grabs are those of Karen Curt, Ward 1, and Todd Walker, Ward 3.
Three other individuals have filed to be on the ballot other than Norman.
Those are Harold Horner, Ward 1, Anthony “Tony” Lallis, Ward 3, and Rachel Dunard, Ward 3.
Curt, current Ward 3 Alderman, stated that she wasn’t planning on re-filing but mentioned that she could potentially change her mind on that decision.
Curt stated that the reason for her reticence in re-filing is a difficulty in making the meetings and general lack of time.
Walker couldn’t be reached by press time.
As far as registering to vote is concerned, the last day to register to vote for this election is March 11, 2020.
