Mercy Lincoln donates funds to Silex schools

Mercy Lincoln co-workers collected pocket change donations and the hospital matched their donation. In total $1,760 was donated to Silex R-I to pay off the school lunch balances.

“Students are offered breakfast and lunch at school but some of our students who don't qualify for the Free and Reduced program sometimes get behind on their lunch bills and I was wanting to help out the community by getting those bills paid off. A lot of parents have enough on their plates right now, so I thought this would help,” said Jenny Carnahan, Silex R-1 teacher. “My mom, Becky O’Neal, a nurse manager at Mercy Lincoln, asked me how the hospital could help Silex school and this was the first thing I could think of.”
