Heaping helpings of fun and outstanding service are destined to become the hallmarks of McDingerz Sports Bar and Grill in Eolia off Hwy 61 as it opens in mid-July.
The McKenney family (dad Jim, mom Stacy, son Dalton, and daughter Brooklynn) plan to serve wings, sandwiches, appetizers, and more while customers enjoy entertainment provided by darts, pool tables and a dozen large screen TVs. Many will also enjoy a particular feature -- a selection of 20 types of beers on tap.
Tech connections bring an uber-modern touch to the venue with free internet access, USB charging ports, and Touchtunes.
“We’re excited to bring these options to our place,” remarked Dalton, 2016 Clopton graduate and restaurant manager.
Eventually, live music will become a staple of the weekend fun. Patio seating is tentatively planned for the future, as well as Friday Steak Nights.
The explanation behind the business’s name comes from a family story. As daughter Brooklynn steps up to the plate at softball games, her dad Jim encourages her with, “Get me a McDinger!”
Hours of business are everyday (including Sundays) until midnight but extended to 1:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Persons interested in applying for work at the Bar and Grill should visit the McDingerz facebook page.
“We’re looking forward to meeting more people from the community and nearby areas,” said owner Stacy McKenney,
A solid prediction is that the McKenneys will become acquainted with large numbers of customers in the very near future.
