Downtown Elsberry

Participating in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony were: (Left to right) Andrew Howard, ECGA Treasurer, Otto Howard, Kara and Sadie Carmi, Corey Trevino, Mitzi Wylie and employees; Skip and Diane Hale, Grandma’s Treasure; Julie Rodgers, Lincoln County Economic Development Director; Samantha and Jeff Penrod, and their children, Riley and Bubba.

The Elsberry Community Growth Association held a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday, May 13, to recognize some new Elsberry businesses revitalizing the  downtown area.   The south side of Broadway Street that runs through the middle of town, has welcomed four new businesses and new ownership of an established store over the last year.

Elsberry residents and retired educators, Skip and Diane Hale are instrumental in this revitalization.  They have purchased four store fronts, three of which were refurbished by the Elsberry Historical Society.  The new businesses include the Elsberry License Bureau, Penrod’s Butcher Shop, Grandma’s Treasures, Southern Grace Coffee, and Elsberry Hardware.
