In September, officers with the Moscow Mills Police Department responded to a call for an armed burglary in progress.

Upon arrival the two officers, Officer Jason Graham and Officer Randall Van Scoyk, quickly assessed the situation and realized the call was due to the citizen experiencing medical issues and was actually a crisis intervention situation.

The family of the individual called the police department later to commend the officers, stating: “They were the most professional, calm, and courteous officers”.  She was impressed at how they handled the situation and assisted the family through the whole process to find them the help they needed.  The resident, Betty June Brickner, came to the next Board of Aldermen meeting to praise the officers and submit to the Chief of Police a thank-you card and a donation to the Police Department.
