Once again this autumn, the New Life Christian Church opened its doors with warm hospitality to its members and guests. On Saturday, Sept.12, about 150 attendees enjoyed the annual Fall Family Festival.
This year’s activities included many of the usual hometown features. Music and food were available throughout the day, along with olde tyme contests and games.
Lots of kids departed at the end of the day after having assumed temporary identities as cats, tigers, and other creatures due to the artistic expertise of the face-painting crew.
Cake walk participants took home delicious home-made treats to share with friends and family. As usual, the pie eating contest drew an enthusiastic group of hungry dessert fans as well.
Of the presenters of the day, “the fire truck was a very popular item for the children to visit,” observed Wilma Eivins, a member of the church leadership team.
Though the rain fell from time to time during the day, spirits were high and the company remained congenial. All in attendance hope to enjoy a similar event the same time next year.
