Troy Officers, residents presented with commendations

At the City of Troy’s monthly Board of Alderman meeting, Troy Police Chief Jeff Taylor, far left, presented several people with commendations for their roles in apprehending a wrong-way driver on Highway 61 in Troy on Sept. 11.

Patrol Officer Ryan Parker was honored for putting his own life and safety on the line by chasing suspect Joshua Cheatham the wrong way, warning traffic along his route before utilizing a pit maneuver to disable Cheatham’s truck. 

Sgt. Bennie Church and Patrol Officer Andy Kaimann were also honored for their roles by protecting motorists during the chase. Civilians Jonathan Wagner and Dylan Wildman, both of Moscow Mills, were given commendations for rescuing Parker from his vehicle after the crash.
