A group of family and friends got together on Nov. 10 to support the “Holiday Mail for Heroes” campaign.

“Holiday Mail for Heroes” is sponsored by the Salvation Army and distributes Christmas Cards to local servicemen and women.

This is the third year in a row that the group has participated in the Christmas card signing.

Last year the group signed over 600 cards. This year the group surpassed that number by signing 1650 cards.

Each card is hand-signed and includes a personal message of thanks and inspiration. The group members collect Christmas cards throughout the year, especially after Christmas when they are on sale and have even found cards at local garage sales throughout the year.

This year the group had several people donate boxed Christmas cards. The group also made and included some homemade cards to add a very special touch. The holidays are a special time and the group feels that this is a way of showing their gratitude for the fantastic job the servicemen and women are doing in protecting and serving our country.
