The Annual Lincoln County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner was held on April 27 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. Following a prime rib dinner catered by the Elsberry FFA, the Lewis & Clark Fife and Drum Corp marched into the banquet hall and provided a concert to a capacity crowd.
Near the end of their program, the Fife and Drummers gave three cheers for the veterans in attendance and played the national anthem while presenting the colors. On July 4, the Lewis & Clark Corp will be presenting the same program at Thomas Jefferson’s home Monticello, Virginia.
The Honorable US Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer provided the main address of the evening, telling the crowd about the increasing challenges being faced from philosophies detrimental to our values and communities. Also present were a number of local and state office holders. State Representative Randy Pietzman related recent legislation of interest to the community and made a special presentation to Boaz Grimstead, a Troy member of the Lewis & Clark Corp. State Senator Jeanie Riddle and newest State Representative Tony Lovasco provided legislative updates.
Also introduced were district representatives from Senators Roy Blunt and Josh Hawley.
The Lincoln County Republican Central Committee and the Lincoln County Republican Club sponsored the dinner and appreciate the assistance from individual, business and corporate sponsors. A special thank-you is also extended to the hard work of the member and leaders of the Elsberry FFA along with the tradition and talent of the Lewis & Clark Fife and Drum Corp. This event financially helped both of these worthwhile groups, and will also be used to promote Republican candidates and causes locally and within the state.
