TROY – For years, Lincoln County didn’t have a meeting place for its veterans to congregate and enhance their lives.
That changed a little over a decade ago when Veterans Coffee Talk began in the area.
On March 16, VCT celebrated its 12th anniversary during its regular meeting inside the Lincoln County Council on Aging in Troy.
“Twelve years ago, I came up with this crazy idea,” said VCT leader and U.S. Navy veteran Roger Kiesey. “Ralph Coose and Bob Simmons thought it might be a good idea – and that was two people, so I thought it was something that could work – and Veterans’ Coffee Talk was born.”
