Now that the coronavirus has made it to Lincoln County it is more important than ever to do what we can to prevent the spread of this virus.

It’s important that we minimize contact with others, and maintain at least six feet distance whenever possible. This includes your friends and family members that do not reside with you.

Frequent handwashing is a must and while wearing a mask may not prevent you from getting the virus, it will help prevent you from spreading it to others.

As a pharmacist, I encourage you to maintain your health through adequate nutrition, plenty of rest and make sure you take all your medications as prescribed.

I also recommend that you boost your immune system with supplements such as Airborne, zinc, echinacea, elderberry and/or extra vitamin C. In fact I personally take an Airborne every day, and if I should get a cold or the flu, I take it at least three times a day.

It is important that you know what the symptoms of the coronavirus are and how to distinguish it from the flu or allergies.

It is now the start of the allergy season and some people may confuse the two.

Allergies tend to cause more sneezing than cough, although cough may occur due to the drainage. This is more noticeable first thing in the morning and in the evening, while the virus the coughing is more constant and breathing is generally more difficult.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any additional information. If you do have to go to the store or the pharmacy, please keep your distance from other patrons.

And pharmacies like ours are keeping patient contact with the staff to a minimum and we encourage delivery or curb service if you prefer.
