The Eolia Community Center hosted its annual Blood Drive on June 18, in collaboration with the Mississippi Regional Blood Center (MRBC). The MRBC provides donated blood on a regionally local level to hospitals in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. The group holds about 5,000 mobile blood drives each year.
Twelve people interrupted their daily business to volunteer time for blood donations, with ten being successful donors. The hosts are thankful for the donors who attended the event. Blood donation has taken place at the Eolia Community Center annually since 2013. The event is planned again for the summer of 2020.
The MRBC can be reached online at www.bloodcenter.org. It is important to note that the website includes a critical notice to the public: URGENT NEED - O NEGATIVE DONORS.
