ER Cookie Walk.jpg

The hard-working cookie-bakers for the cookie sale. These ladies are the members of the church’s ladies service group: The Edna Ricks Circle. However, many ladies who are not in the service group, but are members of First Christian Church, donate cookies for the Cookie Walk as well.  This cookie sale is the group’s main fundraiser for the year, and the money is uesed for various church missions and community service.

If you’re looking for homemade holiday cookies and a free breakfast all in one place, mark your calendar for Saturday Dec. 14 from 8-11 am at First Christian Church at 1302 Boone St. in Troy.

On that day, the Edna Ricks Circle will be holding their annual “Cookie Sale” in the church’s fellowship hall as well as their monthly Community Breakfast.

A wide variety of cookies will be available for purchase at $6 per pound.  They include specialty cookies, gluten free cookies and nut free cookies.  The cookies will be placed in a cardboard box ready for your enjoyment.

This annual tradition started at the church several decades ago and is still going strong.  It serves as a fundraiser for the Circle who contribute to many church-related programs as well as supporting various community needs.

First Christian Church will be hosting their monthly “free” Community Breakfast on the same morning.

Come and enjoy a hot and delicious breakfast with warm fellowship while you shop for cookies.

The breakfast, always held on the second Saturday of the month, has been in operation for over three years and serves 50-75 people on a monthly basis.

Each breakfast features either pancakes, French toast or biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and sausage, hash browns, sweet breads/pastries, juice and coffee along with fresh fruit (seasonal).  There is absolutely no cost for the breakfast.

In addition, the church operates First Step Preschool with Director, Jaimie Simms.
