During the last several months there has been, and continues to be, limited access to the Joseph Palmer Library.
Librarian Sarah Hunt figured out a way to get books to those in the community that enjoy passing the time by reading.
She recently purchased a Library Case with memorial funds that have been donated to the library. The case is located right outside the doors to the library. Here people can take a book or leave a book to read. They can keep it or return it for another one. There are various age books available including, kids, youth, young adult and adult.
This project was completed with the help of Elsberry Cub Scout Pack 391. The case needed to be assembled and stained when completed. Members of the Pack, under the supervision of leader Andrew Mueller, constructed the case, stained it, and installed it.
When asked what this project meant to the library, Hunt said, “The board and myself came up with the idea of the case as a way to make books available to those wanting to read. Of course, we could not have succeeded if it were not for the help of Pack 391. We extended our sincere thanks to them, they did a great job.”
