It is that time again for the Elsberry Middle School to hold the 2020 National Geographic Beeand once again Chris Tiller, Middle School Social Studies teacher, organized the event.
After a short written test for all students in grades fifth through eighth, the field was narrowed down to the top ten students, who moved on to an oral question competition held last week in the high school library before teachers, family and friends.
The top four places were awarded to Josh Milles, first; George Sellers, second; Daren Crocker, third; and Owen Edwards, fourth. With Mills winning the local level, he is now eligible to go on to the state level. At this time he has completed the written state test and now awaiting word on how he did at that level. Tiller expects to hear something in early April.
